Clatteringshaws Loch Visitor Centre

Body of Water

Clatteringshaws Loch

Description

One of those stunning places that you drive past in Dumfries and Galloway. Fairly large Loch, mostly bank exits around the edge.

Parking Information

The visitor centre car park for the gravel beach launch, but there is a layby further along the road that takes you close to the loch for a walled bank launch.

Free Parking

Yes

Launching Information

The one behind the visitors centre near the car park is an easy gravel beach. There is also a walled bank launch, similar to what you would use on a canal edge. It's a bit steep to get to though. Most of the banks of the loch are rocky and grassy so it's all doable.

Free Launching

Yes

Paddling Information

Check for the release info of the hydro here. Other than that, have at it.
